'Cats' set as all-school musical Feb. 6-9, 2013

This year's all-school musical in February will be Cats, one of many highlights on the 2012-2013 schedule for students at the High School and the 9th Grade Center.
Cats will show at 7 p.m., February 6-9, 2013, at the Union Performing Arts Center. Cats is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. It introduced the song standard Memory. Cats first opened in the West End in 1981 and then on Broadway in 1982, it won numerous awards, including both the Laurence Olivier Award and the Tony Award for Best Musical. The London production ran for twenty-one years and the Broadway production ran for eighteen years, both setting long-run records.
