The Child Nutrition Department is sharing recipes on a periodic basis for parents that are healthy and yummy for them and children. This recipe features Director of Child Nutrition Lisa Griffin's ham and cheese stromboli.
Ham & Cheese Stromboli
3 oz. mozzarella cheese shredded (a little less than ½ cup)
3 oz. cheddar cheese shredded (a little less than ½ cup)
7.6 oz. Deli Ham, sliced
1 tsp. Italian seasonings
1 package of refrigerated pizza dough
Place dough on cookie sheet and spread into a rectangle shape. Follow directions to let rise till about ½ inch thick. Mentally divide the dough in thirds, horizontally. In middle layer place 1/3 of ham and the mixed cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Take one side and fold over the middle. Layer with another 1/3 of ham and cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Take other side and fold over the other layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or till golden brown. Cut into 10 slices. Serve with ranch dressing or marinara sauce.
