UPDATE August 23, 2011
Due to the fantastic help of Jim Glover Chevrolet we are able to reduce the price for the Patriot Ball, dinner and dance on September 10. The price for the general public is $50 for dinner and dance, with $20.00 for dance only.
In addition, because of Jim Glover's donation, all Union employees and military veterans and first responders will get a special discount price of $35 for the dinner and dance and $20 for dance alone. - Dan Snow, SMSgt USAF, (RET)
1st annual Patriot Ball to celebrate Union AFJROTC Week of Remembrance
Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and in honor of all Vietnam-era veterans, the Union Public Schools Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Booster Club is sponsoring the first-ever Patriot Ball on Saturday, September 10, at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center, 6836 S. Mingo Road.
“We hope this special event will become an annual occurrence,” said Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt.) Daniel Snow. “Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend a fabulous evening of listening or dancing to music that has shaped America for decades! Come and enjoy the sounds that make America great!”
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a social period with a silent auction. The Call to Order and welcoming of guests will be at 6 p.m., followed by a grand opening with presentation of all flags at 6:33 p.m. and additional ceremonies. There will be a dinner at 7 p.m. featuring a “Musical Salute to the USA,” local vocalists, and the Union Highsteppers. The dance will start at 8 p.m.
Tickets to the dinner and dance are $50 per person. Corporate tables are available. Tickets may be purchased by visiting http://unionafjrotc.info. For more information, call 918-557-7619.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Folds of Honor, Wounded Warriors, Blue Star Mothers, Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, and the Union AFJROTC.
The Patriot Ball is one of several events planned in connection with the Week of Remembrance September 11-18. A car show is scheduled earlier that day on September 10 at the 6th/7th Grade center. A complete list of events is available under the news section at www.unionps.org called Week of Remembrance
