Annual YouthArts! festival set April 22-29

Union's Fine Arts Department proudly presents the 40th annual YouthArts! Festival, showcasing the creative works and talents of Union students. The event will runs April 22-29. See the schedule for details; click on the download file button on this page.
Under the direction of the district's 50-plus fine arts teachers, YouthArts! includes a variety of performances and exhibitions, all open to the public. Events include dramatic plays, choral and instrumental choirs, as well as demonstrations by speech and Winter Guard. This year a digital category has been added to showcase artwork created on the computer by the high school's Graphic Design, Multimedia, and Digital Editing students.
One of the highlights of the event is the Visual Arts Exhibition, which showcases painting, drawings, ceramics and sculptures in the UMAC, 6836 S. Mingo Rd. it will run throughout the duration of the week. See times on the schedule; click on the download file button on this page. Also on Tuesday, April 2, Union will host its fourth annual STEM Expo, featuring the great work going on in kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms across the district. The STEM Expo event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the UMAC.
YouthArts! is one of the longest running festivals of its type in the state of Oklahoma, celebrating its 38th anniversary in the spring of 2017.
TOPS presents 'Lucky Stiff' April 15-20
Trigon, Inc. and Open the World with a Book present the Theatre of Professionals' production of "Lucky Stiff" at 7 p.m. April 15-20 as part of the 40th annual YouthArts! Festival. This murder mystery farce of mistaken identities, millions in diamonds and a wheelchair-bound corpse will leave you dying of laughter. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Directed by drama instructor Tony Schneider, the play features students in grades 9-12.

Union Repertory Theatre's Spring Showcase April 22-27
Trigon, Inc. and Open the World with a Book present Repertory Theatre's production of Spring Showcase - five student-created plays - at 7 p.m. April 22-27 at the Union High School Studio Theater, 6636 S. Mingo Road. Tickets are $5.
Directed by drama instructor Troy Powell, the plays featured will be "The Illusion," "The Sound of Your Voice," "Last Chance," "This is a Test," and "Once." Because there will be different shows, you will want to attend more than one night.
