Union TOPs presents 'Our Town' April 17-22

The Union Theatre of Professionals proudly presents "Our Town" by Thornton Wilde at 7 p.m., April 17-22 at the Union 9th Grade Center. Tickets are $5 at the door. Directed by drama instructor Sarah Prahdan, the play, which famously uses spare set designs, tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.

The Union Theatre of Professionals features students from 9th through 12th Grade.

Union SchoolsThe play will be performed by different casts during its run. The pictures below were taken from Thursday's dress rehearsals when members of the 8th Grade Select Drama Class, under the direction of drama teacher Erika McGhee, The 8th Grade Drama will present "The Little Princess - The Story of Sara Crewe and the Magic" at 7 p.m., May 4-5 at the new Union 8th Grade Center Stage. Tickets for that show are $3.

Both productions are part of YouthArts! - one of the longest running festivals of its type in the state of Oklahoma, celebrating its 38th anniversary in the spring of 2017.

YouthArts! was founded by Ed Tackett, now retired director of Fine Arts, and has grown immensely over the years. The 2017 Festival will run from April 10-May 18.  See a complete schedule for YouthArts!.
