December 3, 2012The Union Public Schools Board of Education has announced that statutorily qualified individuals interested in running as a candidate for member of the Board of Education to represent ELECTION DISTRICT NO. 3 may file to run as a candidate for this position at the Tulsa County Election Board between the hours of 8 a.m. on December 3, 2012, through 5:00 p.m. on December 5, 2012. more

December 2, 2012Union Adult Learning Center is pleased to announce the grand opening of its Pearson VUE Testing Center, located on the northwest corner of the 9th Grade Center campus, 7616 S. Garnett, Broken Arrow. Union has been offering computer-based testing for the GED test since September. more
December 2, 2012Rosa Parks Elementary School is organizing a relief event for the families that were affected by yesterdayâ€™s apartment fire at Observation Point Apartments. Nineteen families were displaced. They will all be relocated into another apartment this week. The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, November 21. Items can be dropped off at Observation Point at noon on Wednesday. See inside for list of items needed. more
December 2, 2012Union PTA Council is hosting a drive for the new Clothing Closet. The Council is in need of new underclothes (no used items please). The Union site that collects the most individual items (example-a pack of 6 pairs of socks would count as 6 items), will earn a $50 award from PTA Council. As you shop for the holidays, please consider also purchasing an extra package of underclothes to help those that are not as fortunate. The drive will run through Friday, December 14. Bring donated clothes to your school site. more
December 2, 2012Union Varsity Cheer will host the first annual Union Cheer Invitational on Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m. at the High School. Come and watch area squads compete and perform, as well as the debut performance of the UVC parent squad.Â Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children 6 and under are free.Â For information about competition registration, contact Sal Munoz at email@example.com. more
November 30, 2012Darnaby Elementary School's PTA will host its 31st Annual Crafts Fair Saturday, December 1. It is the same great show with a new and improved location. This year it will be held at the UMAC, 6836 Mingo Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come for returning and new vendors. There are door prizes called frequently with gifts being all ranges of items. Come get quality made gifts for your family, friends and loved ones. more
November 29, 2012The Briarglen Community Dinner and Game Night is this Friday, November 30, from 5:30 p.m. â€“ 7:30 p.m. Rib Crib will provide dinner and the school will have board games, cards, and puzzles available for families to play throughout the evening. Families are encouraged to bring their own games, as well! In addition, the Tulsa Health Department will be providing activities in the gym. more
November 28, 2012The first hour choir class at the Union 8th Grade Center will perform a mini-concert during the Tulsa 66ers basketball game at the Sprit at the Spirit Bank Event Center in Bixby Friday, November 30. The game starts at 7 p.m. The choir is under the direction of Samuel Jeremy Stevens. more
November 28, 2012Emily Warren calls it her dream job. It is not her intention to resort to some bit of hyperbolic cleverness. She speaks without a trace of aggrandizement. What she says is what she means.
Being director of athletics for Union High School, she says, always has been her idea of a dream come true. Plain and simple.
She made that professional declaration as an 18-year-old while still attending Union High School.Warren is something of a rarity in sports, a female administrator in a male-dominated world.
