Students who see Eli Huff walking the halls of the new Union Collegiate Academy call him chef. And the school staff members are anxious to stop him and discuss his latest culinary creations. The first day of school is Monday, but Huff's new health-conscious menus have already received good grades.

Over the summer, High school drama instructor Troy Powell agreed to direct a show for Theater Tulsa: The Odd Couple, which also features two Union staff members.
Theater Tulsa is presenting The Odd Couple August 31at 8 p.m., September 1 at 8 p.m., and September 2 at 2 p.m. Then picking up again on September 6-8 at 8 p.m. at the Liddy Doenges Theater in the Tulsa Performing Arts center. For tickets contact www.theatretulsa.org
This show stars Jeff Houston, Tony Schneider (High School theater teacher,) and features Jessica Branston (9th Grade Center theater teacher) and "my very own lovely wife Stephanie Powell." Powell said. "Come out and have a brilliant time."

Tomorrow morning, Friday, August 24, is the first Late Start Friday of the school year. With the exception of the Early Childhood Center, school begins 25 minutes later on Fridays to allow our teachers time to discuss academic strategies for their students and to team with each other to closely follow each student’s progress. Since school starts 25 minutes later each Friday, the morning buses will arrive at their stops to pick students up 25 minutes later than usual.
