Parents and students gather in one of the classrooms at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center, 6836 S. Mingo Road, to enroll for the new school year. The enrollment office was moved to the UMAC to accomondate increased traffic.
As school commences Thursday for Union Public Schools, some students may have to adjust their usual classroom attire. A dress code policy approved in the spring will go into effect at the beginning of the new school year, although administrators say the changes are not dramatic.
Union Public Schools will host a workshop called "Best Practices for Students with Autism" for area educators from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, August 31 at the Education Service Center, 8506 E. 61st Street. Parents are welcome to attend.... more
