Learning to parent

Miranda Fish is 18, a senior at Union Alternative School and the mother of a 10-month-old boy. She admits she had no idea about being a parent when she was first pregnant with her son, Miles. That was before she was enrolled in the Oklahoma Parents as Teachers program, a child development and education curriculum that supports parents in their primary role as the child's first educator. Enroll! Community Class deadline Sept. 26

Do you know about the new community classes we are offering to adults and students?
This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your children to learn something fun. You can even make it a family event.
We have new classes beginning October 3, and we are extending the enrollment deadline through Monday, September 26.
Here is one example: Jarman media specialist Jessica Smith's communuity class is called Beginning Cake Decorating and the students have never picked up an icing bag before!

Union hopes to make it 100 tonight

Union has won 92 consecutive district football games dating back to 1997 and has won 13 straight district titles. Expect the Redskins to go for their 100th district win in a row a year from this week.... more

UCA construction on schedule

It seems like everyday something changes at the High School campus as crews work feverishly to construct the much-awaited wing for the Union Collegiate Academy.“The 125,000 square-foot Collegiate Academy wing is on schedule for completion in late July, 2012,” reported Lee Snodgrass, executive director of Project Management.

Cheerleader car wash Saturday, Sept. 24

Union Varsity Cheer is having a carwash on Saturday, September 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Food Pyramid at 71st and Garnett. All proceeds will help send the girls to the UCA National Cheerleading Championship in February. The first 20 customers at the car wash will receive a free mini snow cone compliments of Josh’s Sno Shack. ... more

Union vs. Bixby Homecoming game tickets

There will be no advanced football ticket sales for the Union vs. Bixby football game, Friday, September 23. Tickets may be purchased at the stadium ticket booth, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Pro-rated season tickets are available for $30.00. Tickets are for Bixby, Owasso and Enid games. Also included are a reserved seat for the potential First & Second Round Playoff games (ticket holders must still purchase the OSSAA ticket to enter stadium, but will have a reserved seat for those games). Season tickets may be purchased Monday – Thursday this week from 8 a.m. – Noon, and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Athletic Office (2nd floor UMAC). Don’t miss out on great seats for the remaining home games!
