Pom, Dance win state championships

Congratulations to the Union Varsity Pom squad, coached by Emily Jones and Amanda Snider, who won the Class 6A Pom State Championship this past Saturday at the OSDTDA State Dance Team Competition. This was the pom squad’s 9th consecutive state championship and 10th overall. The Junior Varsity Pom squad, coached by Amber Hastey and Brittany Friske won their 3rd consecutive State Championship. The 8th Grade pom squad, coached by Katelyn Mendez and Blair Stone, placed 2nd.

Annie Stuart (senior) and Ally Harmon (senior) won scholarships for their academic achievements. Amethyst Kelly (senior) won a scholarship for her community service. 19 of the 25 Varsity Pom Members made the Academic All-State team.

Congratulations to the Union Highsteppers, coached by Megan Maddux and Jennifer Dunham, who won their 30th state championship in kick this past Saturday at the OSDTDA State Dance Team Competition. The Highstepper officers won 3rd place overall in the large ensemble division, and the JV Highsteppers, coached by Lauren Haskell, won the state championship in the JV jazz division.

The filing period for school board candidates in 14 Tulsa County school districts and Tulsa Technology Center ended Wednesday. Heather McAdams filed for re-election for District 3 seat for Union Schools. She is unopposed and will be automatically re-elected.... more

Union Bands Winter Concert Dec. 13

You're invited to join us on Thursday, December 13, 7 p.m. at the Union High School Performing Arts Center, 6636 S Mingo, for the Union Bands Winter Concert. 6th, 7th, & 8th graders, and 9th-12th grade jazz bands students, in nine different ensembles will be performing.

Admission is free, however we encourage all attending families and patrons to bring a two canned-good items, or $2, all of which will be donated to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma (see list of items most sought-after). We look forward to enjoying an evening of excellent music, while also supporting our neighbors in need this holiday season!

Clothing Closet open Monday, Dec. 10

The CenterCross Clothing Closet will be open Monday, December 10 from 6-8 p.m. This is the only evening it will be open in December. The Clothing Closet will also be closed while Union is closed for the Christmas holidays.
