October 25, 2012Union Varsity Cheer Hosts Free Cow Patty Bingo Fall Festival
The third annual Cow Patty Bingo Fall Festival will be Sunday, October 28, from 2-4 p.m. at Pharridge Farm, 10301 Garnett Road (between 101st and 111th).Â Come dressed in your Halloween costume and enjoy face painting, games, prizes and of course candy!Â The event is free but families can also make a $5 donation for the chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card if the cow â€œpicks your number.â€�Â A giant bingo card will be marked on the field and the â€œBessieâ€� the cow will pick a number where she wants to drop her cow patty.Â If â€œBessieâ€� picks your number for her special gift, you win $500!Â Contact any Union Varsity Cheerleader to buy a ticket.Â You do not need to be present to win
October 25, 2012Theatre of Professionals - "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, adapted by Cody Daigle, October 22-27, Tickets $5. Show starts nightly at 6:30 p.m., Doors open at 6 p.m. at the 9th Grade Center. Directed by teacher Jessica Branston.
Theatre of Professionals (TOP) is a 9th-12th grade class even though students perform at the 9th Grade Center. more
October 24, 2012Briarglen Elementary hosted its first Community Night Tuesday, October 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., as families came together for food courtesy of Rib Crib, haircuts and learned more about community services and their PTA. See photos inside.

October 24, 2012The 2012 Class 6A, 5A and 4A state cross country meets take place Saturday at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
The 4A girls open the meet at 10 a.m., while the 6A boys close things out at 2:45 p.m. The remaining schedule: 4A boys, 10:45 a.m.; 5A girls, noon; 5A boys, 12:45 p.m.; 6A girls, 2 p.m.Union was second in 2011. more
October 24, 2012National Food Day is today, Wednesday, October 24, and all around the country organizations and individuals are celebrating â€œa movement toward healthy, affordable and sustainable food.â€� Global Gardens, a local non-profit that partners with low-income communities to facilitate school and community gardens, is presenting the new documentary, A Community of Gardeners, at Guthrie Green, 111 E. Brady St., at 7 p.m. tonight as a part of the national effort. more
