  • Rosa Parks Early Childhood Teacher of the Year: Alison Lamb

    Alison Lamb was named the Teacher of the Year at the Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center. Lamb said, “In my classroom, students have the freedom to play and learn in a way that is best for them. I spend the first several months of school building relationships with each child as they learn to be away from their family and come to school for the first time. I use my knowledge of each child’s unique personality and needs to decide how to best teach them. continue reading

  • Union seeks approval of $26-million bond issue Tuesday, Feb. 14

    Union Public Schools is asking patrons to consider approval of a $26-million school bond issue when they go to the polls on Tuesday, February 14. The largest portion of the bond includes the next phase of construction of an elementary school to enable students throughout the district to attend school closer to home. Passage will not increase taxes above traditional levels and requires a supermajority – at least 60 percent of the vote.
